White collar crime should have different sentences attached. Not house arrest, country club prison and a tiny (for them) $ fine. Spending months and years knowing cheating and stealing ordinary peoples future and safety should be treated as premeditated murder.

The Brits, or some of them, concerned with their 'Homeland Security" have found a tricky way to deal with people they consider extremists. Speech may be free, but you are going to have to shout over the fence. You will not be welcomed in the UK.
Being older than some history books................................I remember when,The Justice Department ,USED to be a autonomous entity from the executive branch. Not a branch of 'in house' attorneys for the President.

I think, the reason the President got such high marks for his first World tour, was because everyone saw him heading in the right direction. However, going around and apologizing for 'those guys' is only a beginning.

I just came from a succession of serious, scary and way to real discussions. I like how Rachel Maddow and Keith Olberman have that tiny spot at the end of the show, where we get to laugh a little. Kinda like a cleansing.

Hi emersontwain - I'm happy to see that you are still here (Aug. 2010). You were one of the first Viners I noticed in 2008-2009 as I was learning to navigate the Vine in the political arena. Life and times can be such a struggle; it was always good to bump into your pragmatic, sensible style and perspective. Wishing you more good times here, and peace and contentment in the future. ..CL1

The difference between Liberals and Conservatives is that with Conservatives, they are motivated by fear and do not have as strong, if any, ability to empathize, are less socially consciences. The Innate ability of some of us to included others in wider and wider circles of others, forming a broader representation of society, as opposed to the narrow veiw that may just include a family [who some Conservatives consider as property] or just like minded people who share their handicap. Some are open for new ideas... we call these Liberal minded people because they are more adaptable to change and progress.
Some of them have very wide circles encompassing the whole earth.
For some reason, Conservatives are actually convinced this is a weakness and can't even begin to conceive the shear magnitude of strength that can be found in one person like emersontwain, this is why they will always fail. Also, you can tell more about a persons character by what they laugh at then by what they say.
More than glad to join your group.
Though I kinda write that everything is a joke and I prefer to read quotes from H.L Mencken, Ambrose Bierce & Mark Twain before he had to sell out, Compare Twains article "To those in the dark" (approx) to anything he wrote later.
PS: I only comment after afew drinks. Normally I read & just shake my head wondering if there is any hope.
A message to the Vine from Mark Twain, emersontwain and Michale Franti.
in response to yer comment ("hippie, please, don't go"): i hadn't left, yet - tho i was casually condisering it (how'd u know) - n u been prolly one o the happiest o me supporters, proponents, etc... but i've felt more welcome in places, it turns out, i wasn't - there izza vibe metric - so i'll jus follow you around all day, try n up that average - n mebbe i can enlist u to stick up for me, translate for me, to me detractors - "what spaceyhippie means to say is..." n then put whatever else u wanna in there =o)
Emersontwain - my friend - how blessed I am. You brighten my day with your wit, humor and intelligence. I will never go a day, if I can help it, without checking in on you because I need the lift your words give me. Remember to always Hug, Hug, Hug (ha) although, I must admit, when you engage, I laugh out loud. Take care, my friend, looking forward to more fun.
