Hi emersontwain - I'm happy to see that you are still here (Aug. 2010). You were one of the first Viners I noticed in 2008-2009 as I was learning to navigate the Vine in the political arena. Life and times can be such a struggle; it was always good to bump into your pragmatic, sensible style and perspective. The difference between Liberals and Conservatives is that with Conservatives, they are motivated by fear and do not have as strong, if any, ability to empathize, are less socially consciences. The Innate ability of some of us to included others in wider and wider circles of others, forming a broader representation of society, as opposed to the narrow veiw that may just include a family [who some Conservatives consider as property] or just like minded people who share their handicap. Some are open for new ideas... we call these Liberal minded people because they are more adaptable to change and progress.
Some of them have very wide circles encompassing the whole earth.
For some reason, Conservatives are actually convinced this is a weakness and can't even begin to conceive the shear magnitude of strength that can be found in one person like emersontwain, this is why they will always fail.

Also, you can tell more about a persons character by what they laugh at then by what they say.

Though I kinda write that everything is a joke and I prefer to read quotes from H.L Mencken, Ambrose Bierce & Mark Twain before he had to sell out, Compare Twains article "To those in the dark" (approx) to anything he wrote later.
PS: I only comment after afew drinks. Normally I read & just shake my head wondering if there is any hope.

in response to yer comment ("hippie, please, don't go"): i hadn't left, yet - tho i was casually condisering it (how'd u know) - n u been prolly one o the happiest o me supporters, proponents, etc... but i've felt more welcome in places, it turns out, i wasn't - there izza vibe metric - so i'll jus follow you around all day, try n up that average - n mebbe i can enlist u to stick up for me, translate for me, to me detractors - "what spaceyhippie means to say is..." n then put whatever else u wanna in there =o)
